Default Tires for Firehawk 383 H/C/I 10 bolt

I have a 2000 Firehawk LS1 383 with H/C/I and want to get some nice tires to put on her. Its my DD and I usually don't go to the track, but once in a while I do meet up with a honda that thinks he can beat me with auto zone stickers. What I want is something that I can put on my 17' Firehawk rims that will help me hook a little better but won't rip my rear ut from under me. I would prefer to only get tires on my rear. I have just moved so do not have any of my tools here at college and want something that won't rub either. thanks for the help

Heard good things about those Toyo's. Nitto NT05 or the NT05R's could be good as well.

Nittos 555 are the best true daily driver drag radials..M/T are some of the best for the track. They all suck in rain and don't wear long.

There are some good street tires $$$. I liked the BFG KDW's not to expensive. Michilean Pilots are bad azz but $$$
