Old technology but they work.

Just don't try to push it too hard, I know a guy that has blown up 4 of those things.

I ran one for a while, eventually lost the thrust bearing. Mine was on a LQ4 with 14lbs for 5-6k miles.

After seeing the thread about on3performance. I though i would post this. I would trust a garrett over a chinese turbo anyday, and they can be serviced. With my set up so far so good. I plan on getting my 88mm once i put the 6 liter in the car, but till then the 76mm is gonna stay with the 5.3.

i have a tv7511 that i upgraded to an 88mm compresser, .96ar turbine, made 720whp at 15lbs through a terrible converter, just went 10.5@133 set on 17lbs pedalling it after the 60ft with %30 converter slip on the top end. Run it like it is but later on down the road instead of upgrading it go with an s480, much newer wheel technology.

Ive been running one for 2 years. TV series garretts are cheap and reliable as long as they have supporting pieces, such as correctly positioned BOV's and oil feed and return lines. but thats to be said for all turbos.

too many turbos get bad reps because people have bad setups.

Again though old technology.
