Why are you going with that small of a cam? Not worth the time and money IMO. Frost has pretty good rep for mail in order tunes, might be the closest to a real dynotune.

What part of Mexico? I had my car brought back to life in the state of Zacatecas, A mechanic friend of mine who has experience in LS1's might be able to help you.

+1 above, that cam will disappoint you when you start it up after two days work on it, also, your not particularly going to need a tune with that small of a cam. A tune would help, but it is NOT required.

I agree, that cam is just to small. It won't even really need a tune, so if your going to run it I wouldn't worry about it.

Well what other mods do you have?
Headers, exhaust, heads, TQ Converter, ect... Or what are your future mods that you have planned? Is this cam going to help or hurt performance? Yes its pretty small. But if your stock, or keeping it stock that wont matter.
For example..... I have a small cam. My engine is modded, but is on its way to stock. Because i am doing this, I went small. I had a Thunder Racing 224 in it before. I had a lifter go bad and eat the #4 intake lobe. I was on the fence about getting the same cam, or going smaller. I went smaller, and the cam I have needs no tune on manual cars. but it needs "slight" tune on auto's.
My cam is the Thunder Racing CheaTR Cam (TR cheater cam). Works great with stock engines.

the 224r cam is a good cam. it is proven, i have the 228r and it is perfect for my dd m6. But this guy has his mind set on this cam so ill offer some advice with that. You can simply spend ~$300 and just install this small cam and nothing else, and hey you'll probably never bend a pushrod or break a valve spring, but for extra durability, go with .600 lift aftermarket valve springs, hardened pushrods, and a new oil pump. I, and everyone else here, will suggest a new oil pump if your car is a 98 or 99 as they failed, particularly the o-ring, Get a Melling, and a new o-ring. I personally had an oil pump take a **** on my 99...byebye motor.

No need for a tune with this cam your looking at. if it is a m6 then dont worry about it at all. a4, well its up to you. i still wouldnt.

good luck chuck

IDK about your money situation, but TRUST me, saving $250-$400 on a TB and putting it into a Melling Oil Pump and a ls2 timing chain will be a much much better investment. Gains from TB are little to none, and a new oil pump will help that motor alot..

The shot will be doing all the work, the cam is a trivial
improvement over the stocker. Seriously, people aren't
lying to you.

On the plus side, that cam you probably wouldn't even
notice as far as idle and low RPM drivability. I'd bet you
don't even need to touch the tune.

OK here it goes... That cam you have, aint worth it. Get credit and buy yourself a nice mild cam. TSP 224/224/.581 has been a good choice for me.
Whent the cam was installed, I also had a lid, shorty headers, 80series flowmasters, Harden push rods, LS2 timing chain, Ls6 Oil pump, TSP Valve springs, retainers, locks, and valve seals installed.
As mentioned above, they werent all necessary, but why not do it right the first time, and not worry later.
Every thing else was stock from y pipe, A4 TRansmission, and rear end.

I made 365 RWHP and 364Lbs of TQ, A few days after dyno tune My transmission Broke...
Time to upgrade, I got the trans built. Beast sunshell, servo, planetary gears, clutch packs, shift kit etc. I also decided to throw in a 3800 Vigilante Stall, and a external Trans Cooler.
I took it to get tuned for the new stall and shiftpoints, and made a heartbreaking 330rwhp and 309 lbs of Tq. That was unlocked, once they locked it, it went back to its original numbers. So dont panic when you see low numbers through a stall. The performance is so much better.

Soon after I installed Long tube Headers, ORY pipe, and cut out. Catless of course. The gains From the 224 cam, LT's, ory, and everything else got me to 390rwhp and 380Lb tq. I also have a small hit of nitrous, 36 pill, which is a baby dry shot, but gets the work done, and i feel comfortable with it. My HP with nitrous is Unknown

So if you want similar numbers to mine, Follow my choice and be done with it. My car runs strong, and I am very happy with it.
I'll find some vids to show you my ride in action.... Hope this Helped!!!

Sense your going to have to rely on a mail order tune I'd go with a 224/224 on a 114lsa it would be easy to tune for and would still give you a decent gain.
