Either way.... good kill pre-vid. LOL Vid looks like a flyby

No way does Heads and Cammed LS6 put down 570rwhp...
Heads cammed with a few bolt ons should be about ~410-440.

Irunelevens
09-01-2012, 02:54 AM
Yeah,.after a heads/cam swap it's basically an LS1.

Maybe a h/c LS7 has that much power...

MasterTomos
09-01-2012, 03:41 AM
No way a H/C LS6 is making 560rwhp. Most average strokers don't put down that much power. MAYBE 560 crank horsepower which would be around 460rwhp after about 17%-18% drivetrain loss. Are you sure the numbers aren't from an engine dyno?

But with an automatic that would probably have a pretty hefty stall for that kind of power/cam to be streetable, and that'd still be on the high side from the norm.

Nice kill on the mustang though :thumb:

Isn't the record for a h/c stock cube ls1 like 500rwhp? That Chris guy? It was in gmhtp

A Sleeved Big-cube LS6 can produced that kind of power even with production 243 heads. Tim Tosto is one example in his '99 HOSS 422ci, I think he was actually an LS1 with ported LS6 heads, sheetmetal intake, yada yada. Made 600rwhp and went 9s @ 140+. Im not saying the car in question actually runs a setup like this but some of you better do your homework before you start claiming what something can and cannot do. :judge:

we are talking stock cubed ls1s with cast rotating assemblies. Not 422ci race motors... No na h/c stock bottom end 346ci motor is making 570whp.

I didn't see where he stated it was "stock cubes", did you? Just that its supposedly an LS6 with heads & cam and makes 570whp. I like to consider all possibilities.

actually were talking about an all forged ls6 with a huge cam and an intake to match. Still looking for the dyno sheet but never once said it was cast internals. It is the stock 346 though

470whp sounds right... not 570whp. Thing we need a giant precise cam, solid roller, magic heads, sheet metal intake, spinning roughly 8500rpm at minimum.

i was hoping to actually see an 18yr.old relic beat a modern day muscle car :( .. my take was the camera being turned on at the end of a race that the lead car hit the brakes and the loser flying by

definetly not. how do you figure a boosted lt1 would lose to a 320 hp mustang?

So with a 228/232 on a 111 LSA, Patriot heads, and a ported Intake/TB a stock cube LS6 car made 550whp?

Lol no. That's off by about 100whp. I could see 450whp-470whp mayyyyybe.

And an 11.4? At what mph? A car with 550whp would be WELL into the 10's. That time is not indicative of the car making the claimed power.

My thoughts? That has to be the happiest dyno I've ever heard of.
