Over-torque

Gents, need some info;

i have an 07 Suburban with the 5.3. we have had it for almost a year. it is constantly needing oil to be added. seems like we add at least a quart and sometimes two every month to month and a half.

this is my first 5.3 and a friend told me the 5.3 heads have a problem where oil leaks into the head and gets burned; thus, needing oil.

looking for any info you guys may have. my wife took it to the stealership while i was deployed and the first mech told her there was a defective part GM sometimes replaced. when she asked the same mech about it later (after he talked to his manager), he told her he was wrong and the best he could do was start a consumption log.

any thoughts? the "oil low" and "add oil" lights are constantly coming on. I have an 03 Z06 (5.7) and a 02 Yukon XL (6.0) and have had no issue like this ever.

My 01 Suburban had the same problem.. GM's fix was a new pcv valve that has a .072 hole in it and no internals. Stopped my oil consumption completely.
