98 gtp should i worry?

what mods on the gtp? he would probably need to at least be cammed with full bolt ons to have any chance at all with your z28...gtps are very quick out of the hole if the owner can drive... but they are complete dogs up top without a big nasty cam..heads..intercooler.. or a turbo..

if he was full bolt on, and cammed with a pulley and tune youd have to worry. a pulley and tune will probably only get him about 40hp depending on which size pulley, but that still puts him at about 280 to the crank plus he should outweigh you, and like everyone else said, they are pigs up top.

if all he has is a pulley and tune he is definately still in the 14s and you will run away from him like hes parked after 50 mph..

I don't know about you guys, but I own a 99 se with 3800 swap, supercharger swap, full bolt ons minus ported tb/charger/intake, 3.4 pulley, and tune.
On the street until about 60-70 its very quick. The torque comes on hard until you get to the top of 2nd. These cars need turbos to pull hard at higher speeds, any turbo 3800 gp is trouble and can easily make 500whp reliably no cam/ no headers/ untouched internals.
My other car is a 95 t/a m6 with bolt ons, and the gp definitely feels faster to 70. I haven't had a chance to put them against each other, but honestly to 100 from a dig- my money is on my gp. Also gps weigh ~400lbs less than our cars, at least the 97-03s.
