Default Help with a threaded hole on the side of my ls2

I am trying to finish putting together my 408, and I am trying to figure out what this threaded hole is. It appears to be about 1 inch in diameter and is threaded. Its on the side of the block that is on a 45 degree angle. Can anyone please let me know what that hole is for and what size it is, if I need to plug it? Please PM me with your response, this way I get an e-mail and get the message right away. Thanks in advance.

It is for a brass threaded in plug. You can get them from a dealer or a supporting vender on here. 17mm allen socket or comparably made tool will do for installing it.
