Default Painted the underside of my car

Before Pics:

Got the purple power out and sanded a lot and cleaned prior to painting. Finished up today finally. Did 2 coats of silver and all the places that needed black. Also painted the springs silver too to break it up some in the back.

After:

You can see here how nicely the rubberized material came out under the rocker panel and in the wheel wells.

The wheel well is reflecting some of the browness of the rotor but its black.

The silver came nice! What did you use for paint? I want to re-do mine too (silver). I foolishly covered the whole back in black undercoat...

Thanks guys.. I just used some random silver hammertone finish paint. Nothing special. Its all in the prep. Clean with degreaser, wash, sand, mineral spirits, alcohol, paint, pics, done.

The dirt was from all the miles this car has seen.. sound familiar? Ehh.. probably not lol

Rockers are the first thing people are going to see when they look under the sides of the car

What did you paint it with? How did you apply it? It looks like it dried very smooth.

Silver hammertone spray paint.. I have had a lot of experience with spray painting lol. This paint was actually pretty forgiving considering all the weird angles I had to spray from.

Love it! did you clear coat it or anything? How do you plan to maintance it? This is one thing I want to try and do is keep the underside of the car looking good.

and do you have any SFC's?

Thanks bro.. I actually decided on the hammertone finish paint from your build thread

I did not clear coat over anything. The paint finishes in a nice glossy manner itself. I painted my bellhousing with this same paint 7 months ago and it has held up great so I went ahead and used it on the undercarriage. Maintenance will just be with a hose and soap/degreaser.

I do have SFC's. I'm not sure what brand they are as they were on this roller when I bought it. They are round tube and tuck up very well. I prefer the boxed style because these flex quite a bit if I need to jack it up using them. They are flush with the bottom of the rockers actually so you can barely notice.

Wow, that looks amazing. I would love to do something similar to the undercarriage of my 2000 SS but suspect I need a lift to really get to all the nooks and crannies.

Simply amazing. I can't wait to retire my car from DD status so I can do this.
