Default Finally did it!

Well, i finally purchased my turbo setup! not all of it, but most of it. Got the complete Hotside/coldside with an on3 76mm turbo. Only parts i have left to order is the wastegate, BoV, and fuel setup! Build thread will follow soon! here is what it consist of

1999 Camaro SS M6
Forged 347 -9cc Mahle pistons
Scat rods with ARP bolts
Stock crank with ARP studs
TSP Oil pump
ls2 Timing chain setup
ls7 lifters
I'll be using stock 317 heads with .650 lift springs and an 02+ ls6 cam with ls6intake with 80lb injectors
Walbro Dual intake pumps that i'll be ordering from Huron speed

If my math is right i should be right at 8.9:1 CR. Im hoping to make 600+ rwhp

Why such a low CR? I would slap some 243 heads on there and have a nice 9.7:1 CR so it isn't such a dog out of boost

I would agree, BUT if, and you will, lol, you decide to try and push it, milling the deck will thin it

Well, decided on keeping the 5.3 heads on it, to keep the CR around 9.85:1 CR. I think this CR will be more ideal, that way the car isnt a complete dog. Opinions? Is this ideal for 600-700 rwhp?

I'm an LT1 fan(underdog all the way) but the thing that amazes me is the LSx family of motors being able to be tuned to put out amazing numbers. I'm sure the guys here can point you to a tune commensurate with your configuration to make more HP than you can probably put to the ground on a street car. My own car is like 8.5 cp and she's weak off idle till I get into boost so I think the quest to keep your CR in that 9.x strata is a great recommendation/goal. Congrats on the new setup. You're gonna love it!

ya i cant wait to start/finish her up! After much research, the 317s will drop me to 8.9:1, and that will make the car a complete dog off boost. While using the 5.3 heads i already have(61.15cc) will get me to 9.89:1(roughly)CR. I should still be able to run plenty of boost with this setup on 93 right? And no, im not talking 25+lbs boost, more like 12-20lbs
