Default in need of a 76mm turbo

im building a ls1 foxbody and the turbo i have is a 76mm but the housing of it is way to big to have the space for it to fit as a top mount in my car. i can get a brandnew t76 for $700 but i was just wanting to see if anyone on here has one or knows someone with one forsale for cheaper that does not need to be rebuilt. ill be interested to buy one used on here untill i get the money to buy the $700 dollar one which will be in 2 weeks. lmk

+1 on what Turb0Z28 said, i just purchased a complete custom fabbed kit with hot/cold side and the on3 turbo. Theres also other options, GT45, just depends on what you want to spend. Do a search, there are TONS of info about budget turbos

On3 is junk. Not sure it would be recommended.

There is nothing wrong with their turbos. The customer service might blow, and they have proven to be a tad shady as of late, but I had no problems ordering from them.

They have one for $260 shipped on there too. Is that one similar to yours?

I hate people like josepy giving on3 a bad name and saying they are junk when they have no idea on what they are talking about. Nor do they have their product. I personally have a 76mm on3 turbo and it is great quality. I also have their 44mnproduct vbanded wastegate. Also excelent quality. Saying they are junk is a straight up lie josepi! You cant beat their turbos for the money.

Yeah I know it isn't. I was referring another vendor on there that is selling a GT45 for $260 shipped. Was wondering if that unit is similar, or the same as yours.

Thanks.

2 friends of mine had them and have had nothing but issues and changed to the gt45. So yeah I guess I do not have a clue. I should have said there not all junk but the service you get when trying to get it handled is. Sorry If I upset you.

The on3 turbos are actually pretty good, its why i settled on it, after researching them. Though, thier customer service is absolute HORRIBLE, thats why i bought mine from the guy who built my turbo setup, i wont deal with on3 directly lol!

Hey just so you know that turbo fits really well on the driver side.....Know a guy with the same turbo with a ls1 in a notch (not sure which year) but he has the compressor inlet facing the fender and the exhaust side facing the pass side.

He has a 4in. dp with a foot long muffler and all going out the front bumper. Thing is super quiet. When I say super it's as quiet as a stock mustang with just some flow masters on it. Even under WOT its still sneaky haha. If you want I could prolly get pics to show you the setup, It sits like a glove like I said....

NVM found a pic...not the best but you get the idea

Where the exhaust comes out

well i didnt read this first and i just bought a cheap *** t76 made is china off ebay..haha it was $320..itll work for a while, wish i would have read this first, i was just rushing to buy it and you know how ebay is, once you click the buy it now buttom, you freaking bought it. but either way i honestly dont plan on using this turbo for long at all anyways, as soon as i get my car up and driving im going to get all my hot side ceramic coated and get a polished turbo from an accual good dealer this time..i still have so much more to buy and its my only car right now and i ran out of money i had saved up so now im just going paycheck to paycheck..but on the on3performance side of the story, my brother had a full on3 kit on his fox(306) with the 70mm turbo and he had no problems with it, it even had some turbo wobble(lol) and it still was fine(no oil in either sides of the housings)..he just couldnt find a rebuild kit for the turbo, i dont think he really looked though.

I would still use te Garrett, hey hits full boost at 3500 rpm on a stock 4.8 cam only. Full boost is 14# I'm sure he's making a good 750whp and there's plenty left.
