Default Dry sump oil-tank placement.

Im building a 1995 Camaro with a turbo-charged 3.5l push-rod v6. Im also running a 3-stage Dry-sump oiling system on this engine.

I would like to use space where the AC unit was for the dry-sump oil-tank. Got any good suggestions?

Wow... It seems that not a **** was given.

No ideas? Or is this just untouched territory?

I have no input, but I'm curious to see where this goes. I've never seen a 3.5 build. Nice work so far.

The only safe spot that I can justify is above the foot box below the cowl inside the cab.

It was either putting it there or in the spot where the ac used to be.

Here's a few more pics of the complete belt routing for the acc and the DS oil pump. Ill probably toss the rest of the pics on my "IRS swap" thread.

is this a 3400/3500 engine?

Check out 60degreev6.com for more info on that engine.

Well... I gave it some though, and Ive decided to move it to the front passenger side where the battery and water reservoir was mounted.

It does mean however that I will have to lose my air-to-air IC and replace it with a liquid-to-air intercooler to route the air pipes inside the engine bay.

Thats too bad. I had fabricated the IC bracket (slightly croocked) to accomdate a fan-shroud and two puller fans. Its a straight "bolt-on" piece that I designed to support the bumper-cover while replaceing the front absorber.

What are you using for a transmission? I thought the 3.5 engines had funky bell housings and weird engine mounts - unless you used the 3400 and bored it.

Looks like it will be interesting, good luck.

The 3500 uses a metric Corporate BH pattern thats shared with the Northstar v8, the 3800 v6, and all GM 60 degree push-rod v6's. I'm using a TKO600 5-speed with a steel "Northstar v8" scatter shield.

The shifter has a near similar mounting position through the floor as the T5 that came out of it.
