HELP! Very loud valvetrain after cam swap on GTO
finished up a cam swap on an 06 GTO, tsp 228r, pac single springs, and 7.4 pushrods, as well as a melling oil pump and a double roller timing set. The valvetrain sounds very loud, video is below. Any ideas?

Sounds like your pushrods are too short sir.
If they're too long you should be able to shut the engine off after running, grab a wrench and rotate the engine over without it building much compression.
That's what that noise is indicative of.

list I would run down:
1. do you have oil pressure confirmed?
2. did you check clearance between the melling oil pump and that double chain? Grinding typically needed
3. check clearance between the oil pump and front cover ? Grinding should have been needed.
4. any idea on lifter preload or just bolt it in ?
