why not car manifolds ?

Default why not car manifolds ?

Can car manifolds be used in place of truck manifolds for turbo builds

This is just a guess on my part but I would say because there are TONS of trucks built with the correct manifolds but not as many cars. So cheaper and easier to get trucks.

Im running manifolds from my old 02 SS on my 04 truck. flipped up and forward. They fit better than the truck manifolds

And people use the truck manifolds on the car cause they point in a nice direction to use on the cars flipped around.

Car manifolds don't point in a nice spot flipped around.

They point to far forward maybe? but is it possible to use them

Yes it's possible to use them, it's not like car manifolds will melt when part of a turbo system.

They just aren't as ideal as truck ones, that's all.

I just didn't know if maybe the flanges were in the wrong place and got in the way or something

I used my stock car manifolds on my first turbo build. had them facing back and everything. ran the pipe from driver side to the passenger side under the engine/tranny mating point into a merge pipe with the passenger side. once merged together i ran that pipe to the turbo. worked well and kept my A/C and everything in stock location (minus radiator)

My turbo kit on my SS had a C6 manifold on the passenger side to clear the A/C compressor and a truck manifold on the drivers side.
