Very vague question...
Can you be more specific? What exactly do you want to improve? Ride? Handling? Traction? Does noise matter?
What is "mid range" price for you?

You might want to look at the shocks and springs from the SLP Bilstien package that was an option on new cars.
Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension System
Offers handling that, according to Car and Driver magazine, "…works smarter, not harder…We're hard pressed to think a car that rides better on 17-inch tires…" Motor Trend magazine added this assessment, "Handling? How about .91g on the skidpad?…" (Available on all models; n/a with 1LE Suspension Package)

Good shocks (bilstien or koni) - will make the most difference.
stock rear LCA's for comfort, roto-joint LCA's for handling (poly for drag only)
-Further improve handling with 35mm front, 22mm rear swaybars with little to no effect on ride quality.
-And if you want, fays2 wattslink will definitely improve feel and handling as well with no effect on ride quality.

Launching!
bilstein is a good choice. Konis are also very good but expensive and may be overkill for your application...
Roto-joint LCAs may make noise depending on your setup, it won't be as bad as rod ends...
I agree with JD...getting something more robust for sway bars is a good idea.
a fays2 will def make a difference in the handling and feel of the car, however i don't believe it is required to achieve your goal...I only really feel the benefits of the fays2 when lapping...no rear end "wobble" when i get on the brakes, its a glorious feeling. I'm not saying you will not feel a difference on the street because you will. But this is not a a cheap piece and may not represent good value for money with respect to your goal...
you've got options.
