Ipod jack
Has anybody put and Ipod jack into a Monsoon system? I have a 07 GXP with the 6 disc Moonsoon system. I have seen other threads but not one directed at this head unit.

Look like this would work. I haven't done it myself, but in the spring when I get my car out of storage i'm going to try it

I did the USA Spec IPOD interface on mine. Mine is a 08 with single disc monsoon and XM - i can confirm the factory XM still works, the HUD works, the dash panel works, steering wheel controls for track skip work, etc.
I installed the wire under the carpet and into my center console. barely long enough with the box installed in the deepest part of the trunk in the middle of the car against the back seat. This also provides for a standard 1/8" (RCA) line in as well as a legit ipod connector.
Sometimes the info on the HUD is displayed incorrectly...like it hangs on a different source than the aux but plays fine and sometimes the song titles won't display or are incorrect...but the steering wheel track skip and volume work and THAT was the most important thing to me.

that is the one i used. it lists my car as incompatible but i assure you it works with my combination.

Just an update on the Ipod jack install......Looks great in the trim piece around the radio but doesn't work. My 6 disc isn't XM or XM ready and I think that's why it doesn't work. Question.....what does the 12 pin plug on the back of the radio go to? That's where all the write ups tell you to hook to. I hooked everything up just like they all say to......triple checked every connection and still nothing. I called the Chevy dealer and he couldn't tell me what the 12 pin plug goes to. Everything on my radio and steering wheel controls still works fine. I plug it in and try using the CD AUX button and that just changes the radio to the CD player. Even with the wire plugged into the jack and the Ipod playing it doesn't effect anything. That is really weird because you cut and splice 2 wires. I'm confused as all hell.

Just to let everyone know... If you don't have XM this mod will not work. I changed the head unit and that didn't work also got my buddies XM receiver out of his car and made a harness for it and still nothing. Save the time and just get the adapter.
