Default My birds results

As you can plainly see I dont post on here much but have been a member for years. I wasnt sure where to put this so it can be moved if need be. I posted a lil while back about my swap in my 01' Firebird from a camd 3.8 that made 206/200 into a LS1/80e car. Ive owned the car since day one on Sept 1st 01' so I know every bolt and screw turned on the car. Anyways, the swap fro stage one was a G5X3 cam,all boltons, Edge 3400 stall, 01 80e w/HD2 shiftkit, 10 bolt w/ GM 3.73's and a TA cover, UMI suspension, etc. and the car mad 375/344. I was happy with the turn out through an 80 but I wanted 400+ rwhp. So I sat out to achieve it by adding a set of AI 226cc heads, ported 90/90 setup, and TSP 1 7/8 headers along with a few other lil things that didnt much matter. The car with this setup on a stock LS1 bottom end made 441/378. So I was very happy with this turn out through the 80 cuz it seemed to be pretty loose compared to some of the tighter ones Ive seen gobble up power. No plans further for now except for getting a drag setup and getting to the track. I do however have a LQ4 that I plan on making into a 408 or similar later on. I just wanted to share this with you guys cuz I think it was a pretty good turn out with the car overall and I was wondering what some of you other guys with LS1/80e combos are making. Also here are a couple pics of the car.

Pretty nice, that's a rare bird too. It has the W68 appearance package.

Thank you 97ramsst.

hawk584: Not sure how u got the idea that it was a Firehawk, LOL. Perhaps it may have been the hood. If it was thats not a Firehawk hood or even a replica. Thats the SLP H.O hood which hasnt been in production since 06 or so.

ramairetransam: Well the 80's in our cars arent too bad to put in really. All that has to be done is cut off the ears of the bell housing on the tranny then u have to cut a lil bit of the underbody (about 3sqin's). Lastly youll need an 80e crossmember and the shift linkage hooks up slightly different.
