Yea but I've herd the blocks are weak on holding power along with the bearing I didn't know if it was true or not and since the heads are different could I put aftermarket heads on them

They're going to be nearly the same power-wise as every other year. It should be in the 335-350hp range. The rod bolts are the weak link in the '98s.

How much hp can you put down before having to worry about the rod bolts

I think its more about rpm than power.

^Agreed. These motors have been pushed time and time again beyond 500rwhp without a problem. Of course we have had success pushing them much much harder.

Yep. Watch out for those stock valvesprings at high rpm.

Was that 333hp at the crank or rear wheels?

Stock LS1 cars make ~350hp crank, and will dyno anywhere from 290-320 RWHP stock.

Yes they will bolt right up. Might as well have them ported before you get them installed.

As the 98's have the perimeter bolt valve covers, you'll need to move to the later center bolt covers to accommodate LS6 heads. The ignition coils are bolted to the cover differently.

Yes, you have no choice, you'll need the later valve covers.

You'll also need the ignition coil mounting brackets.
