Default '13 Malibu Turbo does 155 MPH

http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/n...ibu_turbo.html

The Malibu turbo can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 155 mph. Even with this performance delivered by its 259-horsepower (193 kW) engine, the Malibu turbo has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 city and 30 mpg highway.
What's more attractive to the mid level to premium level midsize buyer, mpg or mph? I'm curious to see how well the Malibu 2.0t sells.

Man, the 2.0T is becoming the new 3.6 V6.

That said, I would buy the turbo version.

I like the sound of it. I really want a Cruze SS with the 2.0T, GMPP tune, and 6 speed manual for daily driver duties.

I'd be interested in a Cruze SS with that motor, appears the regular eco motor in the cruze is quite unimpressive.

Probably, but its not designed to be. Designed to deliver mpg. Anybody who buys one and complains should have their head examined.

Cobalt SS with GMPP tune was rated at 290/315 or 320. Sky/Solctice with GMPP tune was 290/340.

Those aren't too shabby... i thought about a cobalt SS... but I would most of the people selling them have driven the **** out of them so i wouldn't buy it.

with the stock tune it isn't that great. tune only has put down some decent numbers (152whp/191wtq iirc). bolt-ons and tune has put it near 180whp.

Maybe it's just me, but this isn't really impressive at all... For example, the '13 Accord V6 has 278hp and is rated at 21/34. And the 270hp Altima V6 is rated at 22/31. But hey, the V6 Camry is rated 21/30 as well (268hp), so I guess the Malibu is in good company.

No idea. I would imagine it's comparable, considering those are all the best cars in that segment. Even if it was cheaper, that is no excuse, as that is what every Malibu in the past 15+ years has been; not quite as good, but it's cheaper!
