Default ls1, 317s, 228r, tc78, ebay, t56 build DYNO NUMBERS PAGE 2

HI figured Id put my build up here as well. Started it back in April and have been workin on it since then. Engine consists of stock ls1 shortblock with arp rod bolts, TSP 228r cam on a 112 lsa, 317 heads that I did a little bowl porting on, PAC 1218s, arp head studs, sphon solid motor mounts, ls6 intake with a ported and polished tb. I made the power steering lines from hydralic hose where I work and they work really well. The turbo kit consists of ebay hot pipes and a down pipe that I built myself that goes under the k member. My car is not lowered so it works quite well. The turbo is a tc78 with a 1.15 ar split flange ex housing. The cold side is all custom built, also from ebay, going to a ebay bov and a turbo smart 38mm wastegate. I have 2 derale pusher fans mounted to the ac condenser. I used the ebay kit in order to save my ac but now Im not sure if my cooling system will be enough to keep the engine cool during lower speeds like in town.

The fuel system is stock with a aeromotive 340 lph pump, hotwire kit, and 60 lb siemens injectors.

The t56 is stock with steel shift forks and carbon fiber sincros. I have a TDP stage 2 clutch and a tick master cylinder that works awesome! The rear is a strange s60 with 4.10s in it for now. A set of 3.54s are on the way.

The car has bilstein coilovers in the front with 300lb springs and remover front sway bar. The rear has stock springs and edelbrock shocks. It also has a bmr torque arm and lower control arms and relocating brackets.

My buddy street tuned the car via hpt on 10 psi and 14 deg timing on a 2 bar system. My iat went up to 130 on the 75 degree night we tuned it. I thought that was kinda high.

The car went 11.4 at 122 with a 1.64 60 foot with the 2 step on but no boost last weekend in hobbs NM in about 4000 DA and running out of gear as well. Its on 91 and no meth for now. I also ordered efilive and wanna start doing the tuning myself. More pics will come after I figure out how to add bigger file pics.

Cool! Very similar to my build (stock LS1, T56, TC78, etc) except I have the LS6 cam and Huron Speed hotside/coldside.

How is the Aeromotive 340 working for you? Is it keeping up at 10psi of boost? I was thinking about getting one to replace my racetronix 255 but I cant find much info on them...

The huron speed kit looks really good and I was considering getting it. But living in west texas, I couldnt see myseld without ac as I like to drive it alot. So far the pump has been working really well. It keeps up and my injector duty cycle is about 76-78 %.

How is your car keeping cool? I'm running 2 derale 12" pushers on the factory condenser with a Griffen radiator. It should be on the road anytime and I'm curious to see how it works for me.

Ok. I'm running a stock thermostat but I will have the thicker radiator. I know what you mean about wanting ac, I live in the Midwest. It gets nasty here in the summer

Went to the track Friday. Had 2 step set at 4000 rpms and was around 6 psi. Dropped the clutch and car moved forward bout 3 feet haha. I shattered the front yoke on my first pass. Got a chromoly one now so well see what happens in 2 weeks

It's better to break at the starting line than half way down the track

How long were you on the 2-step before it hit 6psi?

Ain't that the truth. I really didn't pay attention but I'd estimate 5-8 seconds. Seemed like forever to me.

5-8 seconds does seem like forever...lol

I really haven't had a chance to play with my 2-step yet so that's the reason I am asking. I hope to spend some time tuning with the 2-step before the track opens again next spring.

It's pretty laggy in my opinion. But I think it's a combination of the dropped compression (9.2-9.4 is what iv found on the Internet with mls gasket) and the narrow lsa on the cam, 112, and the big ex ar housing on the turbo, 1.15. I'd like to switch to the .96 and see if it'll spool faster. It pulls like crazy on the top end tho 😃

I used the online CR calculator for a stock dimentions LS1 and got 9.7CR route with the LS9 gaskets and a 228 with 114 LSA. I also have a T76 .81 AR turbo so go with it. is image that woul dhelp lot with spool on mine lol.
im wondering if using 317 heads with .040 cometics would help with the CR. using the same calculator it comes out to 10:1. Al though, you did say you did bowl porting right? that would cause some ofyour lower CR levels. Im just usng stock 317s without anywork other then some polising to smooth it out.

Sorry. I didn't do any work to the combustion chambers. I meant the bowl area right above the valve around the seat area and polished the runners as well
