Default C5 Corvette LS2 H/C/I Nitrous Build

I’ll give you a little background on the car as it sits. I bought the car about 1 year ago with 98K on it. I only drive it out on the weekends and occasionally to work. I bought a cam kit from Vengeance Racing with their VRX5 Cam. I love the sound but I wasn’t happy with the power so I decided to spray the car. It ran good for a couple months & then the next time I went to spray the car it smoked like a freight train. Didn’t run bad or anything just smoked like crazy so I figured it melted a ring or a piston so now I just cruise it around and await my new motor to be built.

Parts Lists

Engine:
LS2 Block
Stock 3.622” Crank
Callies Rods
Wiseco Piston -3.2cc
Melling Hi Volume Oil Pump
SDPC LS2 Conversion Kit
AI 243 226cc CNC Porting
Comp Cam Custom Grind 231/239 .617/.623
Stock Rockers W/ Comp Trunion Upgrades
Comp Magnum Pushrods
Stock LS2 Intake & TB (For Now)
1 3/4" Headers with 3 inch X-Pipe
All ARP Hardware
King Rods & Mains
Durabond Cam Bearings
All New Sensors

Fuel:
LPE Fuel Pump
Lucas 42# Injectors

Transmission:
Stock T56 & 3.42 Rear Diff
DTE Trans Brace (Need)

Nitrous:
Nitrous Outlet Plate Kit 150-200 Shot to Start
Eventually i’ll upgrade to a direct port & Standalone

^^^^This is just s quick list off the top of my head. So i’m probably missing stuff!

Here is a few pictures that I have of the stuff that has already came in & a few of the car! Thanks for looking. Any input is appreciated.

Looks like you have setup for a nice new motor and nitrous kit. Good luck with the build and keep us updated man.

Would recommend asking flash on cf for a nice spec cam for your application.. Dude is a nitrous guru for the c6's... Only guy I knew with enough stones to run 300shots on the stock block.. It's all in the tune and fuel delivery but if you plan on running more then 200 do you think your 42lb injectors will be enough?

I actually don't even think i'll need 42# because the kit will be ran off a standalone fuel cell so the fuel won't be coming off the rail. I'm going to start off with a 150 or so off the rail via plate kit then when I can buy a standalone i'll bump it up to a 200-250 shot.

Little update for you fellas. I am going to pick up a set of 30K 243 off a C6 in the morning and will be sending them to AI next weekend. They recommend I do the 226cc port job with the 232cc exhaust port so ill leave it up to the experts on that one.

I have been talking with Phil from AI and I think I am going to let them grind me a cam. I really want a aggressive cam and really going for max hp motor. And them adding spray on top of that should make for a pretty quick ride.

Phil@AI will get you the right cam no doubt.

He is an awesome guy to talk with and they have one of if not THE best port programs for those heads around.

Ok little update. My builder said the motor should be done by mid-end of November. I'm planning on sending the heads off next week as I have been working 6 days a week to support my habit of this car

I picked up a set of Texas Speed Headers & Mid Pipe from a guy and also just bought a Monster Stage 3 Clutch. All the parts are slowly starting to fill up my shelf so i'm getting closer to getting finished. I'm getting excited to say the least.

Nice build, good luck with everything. I would like to forge my motor and put a max efforts cam in it and do a nice standalone on my car in the future!

Never thought I would spend so much money on bolts! I ordered my head studs, Hinson Motor Mounts, & a couple other small bolts tonight.

Only thing I have left is to send my heads off and ill be able to get it in the car!

Few updates as i'm getting closer and closer to finishing up the build and getting the motor into the car. I've had a few set backs and was hoping to have it in the car by Christmas but its looking like sometime in January. But I have all the parts and gaskets here now just waiting on the motor to get finished up at the builder. Here are a few pictures of some of the parts.

I have decided to run a LS2 intake & LS2 TB just to get the motor into the car and get it running. Along with the intake I picked up some Lucas 42LB injectors off the forum.

Also picked up a set of Prothane Six Shooter drivetrain couplers for my drivetrain as I do not want to pull it apart anytime soon to replace the rubber couplers. I also picked up a Monster Stage 3 Clutch & Flywheel setup hoping that it will hold up to the power that I plan on putting down on down the road.

The heads were sent out today to AI and should be back in a week or two and i'll post up pictures of them once they get in. Thanks for looking fellas!

Got my tracking for the heads the other day & they will be Thursday. Going to take them up to the builder next week and let me put them on and measure for PTV and pushrods. Then as soon as I can get it put in the car it will go on the dyno. Ill post the cam specs when I get them.

Heads came in today and they look great. No picture does them justice. Got them milled .030 and after everything I should be sitting at 11.5 dynamic compression ratio. I can't wait to get everything together and get it in the car.

Haven't update in a while but I've had a few set backs but its all done and setting in the garage ready to be dropped off at a buddy's shop for installation. Since I had the heads & the old motor basically stripped I decided to go ahead and pull it just go I could clean up the engine bay a little.

Wednesday while I'm off ill be taking everything to my buddy shop and getting it put it.

A little engine **** for you fellas!

Stay tuned for results here very soon!
