Default rocker play after new head and cam intstall helppp

got a 2003 6.0 liter lq4 i just put a new blower comp cam in it a st of new trick flow 220'2 a set of yella terra 1.7 ratio rockers.. just got done gettting the cam degreed and now when i rotate the motor over when the lifter is on the low side of the cam there is a ton of play at least a 1.8 if not 3/16 of play between the the rocker and the valve. any one have a clue why? im using a stock length push rod. im thinking the lifter is bleeding out oil and its not being able to pump back up since the motor hasnt been ran in a few months and theres no oil in the motor.. so any thoughts guys???

Stock length push rods with trick flow heads is your problem. Trick flows have thicker decks. Usually run in the 7.500 range in push rod length.

Bled out or not, your lifters have springs. You would not have the slack if you were engaging (preload) those springs. It looks like a lot of play because it is multiplied by the rocker ratio.
