amperage gage ?

Default amperage gage ?

so my alternator went out and I changed it with a brand new one now when I get past 4200 rpms the amperage needle goes down to 10 and less as I raise the rpms and my check gage light comes on is this normal?

No, that is not normal. Charging should continue normally above 4200rpm. Something is either wrong with the new alternator, or with wiring/connections, or with belt tension/slip.
