Default LEAKED: C7 Corvette Engine Images

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...more-info.html

Someone is getting fired at GM. A member over at the CorvetteForum posted leaked CAD images showing every detail of the C7 engine bay, air conditioned seats, center stack buttons, and a fender with a stingray emblem. Of course, the engines images are the most surprising and reviling.

Welcome back LT1 and LT4. Allegedly, GM is bringing back the LTX family name to title their new GEN 5 performance engines. The 6.2L LT1 will be the base C7 engine that replaces the ancient LS3. GM is replacing the LSA with a SC 6.2 LT4 for a non-Z06/ZR1 C7 model. Who knows what that model will be. Also, the LT4 will find its way into the ZL1 to fight the GT500. Hopefully, the LT1 replaces the LS3 in the Camaro SS before the 6th generation Camaro arrives.

That must mean the LT5 is descend for the C7 ZR1 to pay homage the the original C4 LT5 ZR-1. I want twin turbos, dammit!

They have a long history of reusing RPO codes and engine designation. If it's true, this will be the 3rd time around for the LT1 and derivatives. I don't think it's been long enough to reuse LT yet, but it doesn't mean anything about moving forward or living in the past. Hell, the old 454's in the early 70's Chevelles were LS5 and LS6.

Actually, T comes after S in the alphabet, so I suspect that is more likely the reason. They say 6.2L LT1 - Last I checked the old iron LT1 we're all familiar with is 5.7L

Because 2008 was so long ago.

The old LT1 was a 350, but how do you figure going alphabetically is the reason, considering they're supposedly going from T to S an then back to T.

Is the opti spark going to make a return then?

I hope this is nothing but someones render idea because that rear end is ugly and screams Camaro.

It is just a render. The same guy on the vette forum then rerendered it with some adjustments.

Good stuff, some of this info is still in the rumor stages of course but it's looking good so far.

Yeah really LOL, I wouldn't exactly call the LS3 "ancient".

Ehhhh wel'll see. Those pics look kinda fake honestly, especially the motor. The manifolds look like aluminum, none of the hoses or plumbing has clips or anythings etc

Considering the Opti was scrapped for the LS1 in 1997, it making a return is exceptionally unlikely. It's just a motor designation, not an architecture designation.

Sure you weren't smoking with Jibby and Tainted?

people have been saying that on here for the better part of a year now, or pretty soon after that idea first got floated.
