Default Z/28 EPS Cam 1/8th Mile Times

Went to the local 1/8th mile and ran a new best. DA was around 1200. Below was my best run:

1.62 60 ft.
7.47 ET
94.02 MPH

I had four runs in the 7.40's and 5-6 runs in the low 7.50's. The car consistently has 60' times in the 1.6x's. I was power shifting on these runs. I would really like to make it to the 1/4 mile soon. I think I'm well in the 11's at around 119-120 (ran 11.8 @ 117 last year without powershifting and in poor air). This car dyno'd at 385 rwhp, which seems to be a pretty conservative number at this point.

Mods:

EPS 230/234 .600 .602 112+4 LSA
Stock Heads
LS7 Clutch
LS6 Intake
SLP Lid
Longtubes
ORY
3.5" Cut-out
Underdrive Pulley
4.10 Gears
Girdle
10-Bolt
Full Weight (Minus spare tire and drag wheels)

Below are a couple shots of the car:

Drag Setup (On the car all summer lol)

Thanks man, I haven't done much of anything appearance wise for a few years now. I still really like the look, especially with the drag setup.

Should be 11.5s or so I think. How are you launching the car?

Very nice! I just want to say thanks btw! Over the summer building my new motor i came across that same video and lead me to order the same cam lol. Im running pretty much the same as you but im in an auto car on 17" TT2's. Hoping to get some drag wheels and some suspension work (bone stock suspension) and hit some low 11's. Mine went 11.81@117 and the 1/8 mile was 7.57@92 with a 1.7 60ft.

I'm running it up to around 5K and slipping it hard out of the hole. I try to slip it just enought that it doesn't bog down. Seems to work very well and I have improved A LOT since I first started tracking the car. The clutch and rear end probably have 100 passes on them when the car had bolt-ons and around 50 since the cam swap.

Thats awesome! Looks like yours is running very well also! I was a little disappointed with the dyno numbers mine made when it was first tuned. I kept telling myself it's just a number, but when I went to the track with it I was and am still very happy with how it runs. I beat a lot of cars that I shouldn't and it's a ton of fun catching guys off gaurd when they ask what is all done to the car.

That's about what I was thinking. I'd be happy with anything 118 or over. The M6 pulls pretty good on the top end. I was gaining 25 mph over my 1/8 mile trap speed the last time I was at that track and I was trapping 92 in the 1/8, 117 in the 1/4.

Yeah, i learned a long time ago to not worry about dyno numbers. Track number dont lie lol. I didnt dyno my new setup, just street tuned and it runs just what i thought it would.

Has Hoosier qtp on it with 4.56 gears ran 7.4 with a hotcam and 11.6 at 117 mph. So the larger eps and fast intake and a bunch lighter hoping for the best

Went to the track last night and ran a new best in the great weather (DA 685). So close to a 1.59 60!

When punching in your 1/8th times in a calculator it says your 1/4 times should be 11.65.

Your car sounds and looks damn good. I look forward to seeing your actual 1/4 results

Thanks man, it will probably be next year before I make it to the 1/4 mile track.

I plan to make my own SSRA this winter and possibly move to E85 (injectors/fuel pump). I'm keeping it full weight and I'm going to keep pushing the 10-bolt as long as it holds!
