My 317's have seen 18lbs for the past few months and I haven't had any issues. I drive my nova to work everyday and beat the mess out of it. I'm not sure on how much timing he put in the tune but im on 93octane and meth. If that helps any.

I started to push some water after 24psi. I've been hitting around 30psi lately so this winter i'm going to try some ls9 gaskets. Already have arp studs but only tq down to 85 maybe i'll try to tq down to 90ish. I' already went through 10 gals of meth this summer. Over 1200whp

13-15 on a few set ups, so around 550-625rw. This is with the stock gaskets and bolts from the JY.

With stock head bolts and gaskets I'd start to get worried at 15psi, I've read of people lifting heads this early. LS9 gaskets and head studs will help.

Timing plays a part in cylinder pressure too. You'll lift heads sooner with an aggressive tune.

I've only been to 11 psi on stock lq4 pistons, 70cc heads, ls9 gaskets, & arp studs. 21* timing, 93 pump & 100% meth. No problems yet

Stock long blocks, so stock 120-150k gaskets and stock bolts. With LS9s and ebay studs or ARPs, haven't pushed yet on 24-26lbs on the stock shortblocks and 28-30 on the built longblocks.

I used one set of the ebay 1997-03 ls1 studs, and they were iffy torquing to 75ftlbs, not even ARPs recommended 85ftlbs. For ~700rw hp builds and lower I wouldn't hesitate to use them with a set of LS9 gaskets if the budget is tight.

This is what I was looking for.

Mine has forged pistons and rods, 3 layer mls, ARP studs, just ran it at the track at 23psi and 18 degrees timing and 12.0afr for 12 1/4 mile passes without issues but looking to make a little more power but upping the boost to around 28lbs and getting the afr back in the 11.7 range but dont want to kill it if I can avoid it.

i lifted the heads on stock ls1 head gaskets, stock heads and stock bolts. 9-12psi 19* of timing. ~600rwhp

put ls9 gaskets, 317s and arp studs in at 85ftlbs. didnt change a thing in the tune and its been perfect.

18 psi on straight propane and so far so good. hurled ~4700 lbs to a 11.95 1/4 mile whatever that works out to for horsepower. Truck block with all stock factory assembled 225K mile motor.
