Default Fuel pump issue

I have a 99 Z28 that will blow the fuel pump fuse. When I replace the fuse and start it, the car will run 2-3 minutes. Then blow the fuse again and die out. I did a search and learned that it could have a short in the wiring or it could be the pump dying. My question how do I determine which one? Is there any way to test the wiring? Could my stock pump be dead after not even 20000 miles? Thanks in advance!

get a test light and hook it up to the wiring from the fuel pump and see if anything happens when it pops. My wires were messed from someone doing the trap door mod so i had to re-run new wires to the pump.
