Default lq4 coil swap yeilds definite power increase

so i had some lq4 coils laying around, and figured id give it a shot since i had to take the coils off to replace the header gaskets due to them leaking.

since mine is a 98, i dont have brackets. each coil is bolted directly to the valve cover. since the truck coils are longer, i could only get one bolt in each coil. im not too big of a fan of it, but after the test drive i really couldnt care
there is an unbelievable power increase, and throttle response. i cant tell you how much of an increase, because my car has never been dyno's but its very very noticable.

its a cheap, and noticable power increase
one of the threads i read, someone did a back to back dyno test
one run with ls1 coils, one run with lq4 coils.
there was a 18rwtq and 10rwhp increase with the lq4 coils
after my test drive, i believe it!

I found no results after switching from the "weak" square truck coils to the hot "round" truck coils and back again.

Other sponsors have claimed no results on dyno tests.

Personally, I would like to see back to back track passes or some other testing to remove placebo effect.

Switching from one set of good coils to another yields no appreciable effects in power. Sorry fella.

well maybe i had a coil dying.
that i do not know.
but the car ran just fine with the old coils, and runs 10x better with the triangle lq4 coils
