Default Track day: 335xi vs Cobalt SS/TC vs c5 Corvette vs Others

So all you regulars know we were talking about hitting up the track recently so Will put together a vid of our night.

I am sure the guys will jump on and post up their complete timeslips but I promised to get the thread going since Will put the vid together.

Was an awesome night with the guys in the vid (and my wife came.....awwwww), my neighbor, a bazillion 5th gens, a Murcielago (sorry I just never saw one run before), Porsche, Gtr's, AMG's, etc etc....a mixed bag of some sweet rides. Some good times with the Slobalt running down a 5th Gen even on a wheel hopping almost given up run, the Bimmer showing up a loud rumbling Nova, a nasty fox, a ls1 Vette rippin off 11's on street tires, etc etc....

(note: its just the tech crew on film below)

Was the Slobalts best outing to date.
Little disappointed in the ET but I just couldn't get the traction I needed.
Best 60' but still not gona get me the 12's im after.
Trap is almost comical though:

60......2.197
330....6.125
1/8.....9.083
MPH....84.24
1000...11.570
1/4.....13.658
MPH....109.05

Anyone else have their slip handy post away!

looked like fun. strong run by the C5.

Will and the nova

I just did something similar a couple days ago headed home on rt59. young kid with a early 70s chevelle (sounded like a healthy cam) and temp tags was driving fast and pulling away from stoplights kinda hard so I started messin with him. gave him the jump one time from around 45mph and reeled him back in and caught up to him before we shut down. he was a little surprised

^Lol, yeah that's what the car does best. I'm second guessing whether that was a nova or a Malibu. I'm not that familiar with those years but I'm sure someone will clear that up. Thought he was going to blow past me but he ran out of steam half way down the track and I pulled away.

Looks like a fun day, nice job all around! Great mph out of the Cobalt, and that BMW is very impressive! How do you launch it? What kind of 60'?

Put it in DS mode and disable TC completely. Stage it, brake torque the **** out of it, let off the brake and floor it. I kick the shifts at 6000rpm as boost drops up top. I was honestly hoping to do better on e85 but I was experiencing a **** load of timing drops throughout the run.

Here is my best slip

I'm from Madison. Byron is a little over an hour away and I make it down there a couple times a year.

Sounds like a plan

You betcha...

I was shocked that I was matching my 60' with Willizm's awd 335xi and 12 sec cars with slicks and DR's. I seriously didn't know the car had that in it with street tires and stock gearing. This was my first time at the track with the C5.

Here's one of my slips running a Malibu with a nasty sounding cam, slicks and a 4-link. I thought I was gonna get destroyed when it pulled up next to me. I'm car #98, left lane.

I was pleasantly surprised considering Jay's buddy was running 13-14 second 1/4's with a head/cam/intake ls1 fbody on street tires. I figure you'd do better, but 11's with that 60' is saying something on those tires.

It's definitely on the list. I'm gonna do wheels next, then gears, and a mild stall will follow.

Love seeing the unassuming DD sedans roll out with such minimal mods. Definitely impressed with the LNF and N54.

Wow, C5 on street tires was impressive as well.

Wtf happened with the Nova/Malibu? Slow...
