Default What is infront of my crank timing gear?

It looks like some type of wheel for the crank position sensor. How do I get it off. Is it safe to just pull it with a 3 jaw puller. I need to remove it to change my timing set.

OK if you were unaware of it were you aware it affects fitment of aftermarket timing chains? What timing set are you putting on?
A signature helps us help you, at this point the only thing we can say about the car is the engine is likely 96-97.

I agree...the OP should be able to wiggle it loose, then slide it off.

The reluctor for the CPS should just slide off. I would not put a puller on it. It might bend. Perhaps you could just pull the crank gear and the reluctor (if stuck) should slide off with it.

Going back with a standard cloyes timing set. As soon as I get all the goodies in I'm gonna put the setup in my signature. It's on the to do list. Lol

Thanks
