LS Engine?: Fits LS Engine

Up for sale is a LY6 long block. The LY6 is a GEN IV iron block 6.0 liter engine with factory L92 large valve rectangle port heads. Engine has 9.6:1 compression ratio and is supposed to be great for turbo or supercharger boost applications or run it NA like I have. This particular engine was never installed in a truck. I bought this as a brand new long block from GM in 2009 and installed it in my Chevelle. This car is only driven on sunny days and the engine now has less than 4,000 miles. Driven very conservatively – only one dyno session and 5 times down the dragstrip.

What’s Included:
Stock long block from cylinder heads to oil pan. Does not include intake or exhaust manifolds.

Included Modifications:
• custom mild Patrick G EPS Camshaft
• custom pushrods
• Comp valvesprings
• LS2 timing set and front engine cover.

With this mild cam, a conservative tune, and a LS3 intake manifold this car made 400rwhp on a Mustang dyno through a T56 and a 12 bolt. Easily 475++ at the flywheel.

Asking $2,500

There are no issues that I know of with this engine and it runs great. The engine is installed in my car and you can hear run before purchase. Located in Chicago suburbs – no shipping.

Please – only reply if serious. Thanks

Not sure I have a video of it - will have to check. Might be easier to come and check it out yourself. Cold start, warm start, whatever.

Mostly just cruise around town to cruise nights, work occasionally, etc. Never took a highway trip with it. I think it gets about 14-15mpg around town. For reference, my the 396/325hp with a muncie which was in there did about 9-10 for the same type of driving.

Sorry - I might consider trading "up", but not down. Thinking LS7, LSA, etc.

I'd rather sell the entire longblock - get the best value with headbolts and gaskets. I might consider selling the shortblock, but looking for local (Chicago area) sales only.
