I had to trim some of the poly mount in order to get my clamshell around it.

I'm in the middle of dealing with this myself, I just reached up with my head pointing out from the driver's side, one hand pinching the shell, the other trying the thread the bolt in. This was the only way I could do it.

Generally you won't need to make any further modification than what we list in our installation instructions, but I guess some guys may need to do a little more to get the bushing to mount correctly. If there is material still inside the factory clamshell, remove that before touching your new polyurethane bushing.

Is it easier to install with the suspension under a load? Im going to try it tonight without a load and hope to be able to get a thread or two started. Im having the same damn problem...

It makes it easier, in my opinion, to install the TA with the suspension loaded. I realize this isn't possible for many driveway mechanics, but you can install it unloaded if need be. It must adjusted loaded, though.

The hardest part is getting the old bushing out the rest is pretty simple, you might want another set of hand to help out when putting the new one in.

I got mine in last night, I just put 2 jack stands on the 10 bolt so that the suspension was loaded as it were on the ground. I had an extra set of hands to help compress the clamshell on. Eventually it slid right in. I don't even know why it was so hard in the first place.

Just one of those things that you have to leave and come back to a day or two later and it works magically like it should lol...

i have a small write up with pics when it comes to that exact problem... search under " bmr torque arm , new pix how to install " in the suspension section, mine was with an m6 trans... pretty much i put the clamshell mount on, without the bushing, trimmed in certain places as seen in my thread, then lubed the bushing and pushed it in.

i was also worried that a lil sensor plug would rub the very edge of the tq arm on the trans housing, but i dont think it has, something you may want to dremel/grind out while your there

Glad to see a lot of people aren't having too much trouble installing their BMR Torque Arms. It's a very straight forward install, if you ask me, and our instructions explain it pretty well. I would love to have more pictures showing the installation process, but we actually don't receive too many calls about installation help.

Just got mine back together last night and set the pinion angle this morning. Not too bad of a re-install (I didnt do it the first time).
