harmonic balancer/crank pulley. what to buy or avoid?
So I have narrowed my shudder issue down to the elastoband in the balancer popping out in several spots. Now I need input on which balancers are worth it and which are worthless. I really don't want to buy another pulley hub as the one I have on the car is all of two years old. Its a GM part and I'm wondering which performance balancers, if any, will fit the GM hub. I called jegs and their tech advisor said I needed the hub as well. The engine is a 94 LT1.

I have this damper. Engine sees 7000 rpm all the time. It's been on the car for 5+ years now.

I have the Fluidampr balancer and it sees close to 7000 rpm. The only downside is it's a one piece, which probably is why it's superior IMO to the others (except for ATI if you're going well over 7k rpms.) So if your opti flunks out you have to pull the whole thing off. It's a great piece. I don't know why it isn't more popular.
