Default New PB this weekend

Last track day of 2011 Nov 2011 car went 11.81 @ 117 w/ a 1.63 60 time. This was on 17 DRs on chrome ZR1s, prostar skinnies. Since then installed Monster 3 clutch & flywheel, QT bell, & Billet Specialties Streetlite drag setup, 26x11.5x15 MT ET street bias. Put a spool in as the posi quit also. This year if temps were above 85 deg I couldnt get an 11 sec. slip. Did install the SSRA a few weeks ago, didnt really notice much, maybe 1 mph. Anyway I got a PB this weekend, temps were in the low 50s. I was really expecting a better 60 with this tire setup like 1.5s, our local track prep is terrible(Lapeer) so 1.7s here but its more consistent than the 17 DRs. I did get a few 1.6s at a better track but its a drive(Mid-Michigan) awesome track though. Launch control set at 5500 usually. What kills me is I see these guys getting 1.5s on a bolt on setup. Next track outing(this weekend) the front sway bar is coming off.

Nice work, congrats on the PB! Your car has a strong trap too, should be able to get lower 11s out of it with that 1.5 you're looking for.

Thanks, I know this should be an 11.5 car with the right traction, good air. It doesnt like the heat though.

There was a built 302 foxbody there trapping 109 saturday. On 28 ET drags 2.1 60s. He did manage a 1.8, a lot of that is the track, some of it the driver. I street tuned it & had it dynoed at Jakes Performance in Sterling Heights it made 398whp & 379 tq through the 9 inch on a 90 deg day. No UDP or cutout.

I like the setup, runs strong & you can drive it anywhere you want without the gas mileage wacking your wallet. You wouldnt believe how many people think my car is a gas guzzler.

Nice run, I would say leave at a higher rpm and play with the tire pressure a bit and see if that helps you out.

At our local track it likes 14 psi & 5500(1.7??). If I lower the pressure or raise the 2 step RPM it spins the tires. At a better track I set it at 6200(1.70) but it liked 5700(1.64) but my posi was starting to go that day, its got a spool now. I will be removing the sway bar & heading to Mid-Michigan this weekend.

I had the Hoosier qtp set at 12 psi and was leaving at 6k stock shocks all the way around and could get in the 1.5 60ft times. Just showing my experiences. My car isn't full weight that mite have something to do with it.

Thanks its been a frustrating deal the 1st 3 yrs with shifting trouble at the track, was boiling the clutch fluid & wasn't sure why but with the vented bellhousing it shifts great. I haven't been to Milan since last Nov no ets, too many cars there no fun. Did you break something on the Z?

Weight reduction, Hoosiers hook better & better track conditions are huge. Well see what happens this weekend.

Default another new PB

Went to the track yesterday, temps were between 45-55 deg. DA was 400. Anyway the car ran amazing. After my last outing I was hoping to run a lil quicker & trap 120. First pass spun some, 12.05 @ 120. 2nd pass got a new PB but the time slip didnt print & had to go to the tower to get my time:
11.66 @ 121 mph
1.70 60 ft
7.57 1/8

After that pretty much ran 11.7 @ 121 all day. I did end the day with an 11.55 @ ??? mph. Dont know why I have seen this happen before on occasion but all the other times looked legit. This is with the front sway bar removed but it didnt seem to improve my 60 foot time at all.

Your right where is was at with the bias ET streets.

I didn't get a chance to see your car run @ mid-mich I was stuck in the staging lanes most of the day.

Some adjustable shocks and suspension tweaks would help. The sidewall is so soft on those it takes some work to make them work properly on a m6 car.

My best runs were 11.8 @ 117 that day. Wasn't nearly as cool out as it was this last weekend. I was losing some time on my 1-2 shift. I was in line waiting to run also, did watch you make a 10.65 pass. Busisest I ever seen it get at mid Michigan.

Suspension tweaks but not sure I wanna mess with the shocks. I would like the 60 time to be better. Not running tubes so I know what you're saying, rear tires feel really light. Tires about worn so next year gonna go with some ET drags or a Hoosier DR.

I was down about 2-3 mph that day as well. I normally trap 121 on the motor with the 4.11's.

I can understand wanting to keep ride quality and such.

Yeah it slowed down with the 4.11's and the timing pulled for the spray. It had 4.56's in it last year
