I am looking at doing a ls swap have been for awhile slowly comprising parts and building my engine and now I am down to crunch time. I have many questions but my main one is do the truck accessories work with the 2nd gen f bodies I am trying it in a 1979 trans am with 1" setback plates to put back into factory location using stock manifolds as well. I was originally looking to use the fbody system but have gotten another 5.3 complete with pulley system, pumps, and alt. will the high mount of the alt pose a fitment issue?

Possibly some hood clearance issues. A lot of guys go with one of the aftermarket setups. I went with a LS7 corvette setup (GMPP 19155067) which fit fine, no frame notching or hood problems.

should work ok, my skylark has same subframe as your ta but I had to trim hood support to clear altenator. not a big deal tho.

I have my 06, 6.0 mocked up in mine now with the truck intake and drive setup. They will clear 2nd gen Firebirds/ TA's, but not Camaros. The Camaro's hood has a deeper slope towards the nose. I was also told that 4th gen F-body headers would'nt work, but they will. I have those mocked up as well.
