Default CETA MOD w/ plasti dip

Hey guys,

New guy here and new to the f-body's all together. I like the CETA MOD I seen on a few cars so I decided to do it myself with some Plasti-dip. Here are some pics, I hope you guys like it as much as I do.

Welcome to the site! Kind of blurry pictures, but I did the same to my car and love it.

I'm thinking about using some of this on a car I'm working on. I am also thinking about doing the CETA mod on my Firehawk with plasti dip to see what it looks like before I commit to panting it.

Is the stuff easy to use?

Just did mine too. Dip is the easiest stuff to work with.

Must be a humidity thing cause I spent 4 hours on mine last weekend down here in the south and the texture came out like non skid, looked like sand was in it. From what I read after the fact, I was spraying too far back (6") and should have held the can more like 4"? However, that is not what the instructions on the can says if memory serves...I had to pull it all off, good thing about this stuff is its easy off if you f'up. Not sure if I'll spend another 4 hours on it again or just use regular rattle can?

I sprayed from about 6-8" but used lite coats and built up to heavy coats. It doesn't have a smooth finish like regular paint tho.

Same here, I applied 5 coats from a lite mist on up, I understand about the texture not being a smooth gloss finish but this looked like ***, I used 1.5 cans too. And read the install info on dipyourcar.com

I guess it depends on what your ideal finish is. I used 1 can for mine.

I put 4 coats on an ended up using almost 1 can...I will try and get more pics, it is rainy and cloudy here in Oklahoma right now. The key is light coats to get the smoothest look.

Thanks man I plan on getting a real set of wheels soon. The plasti dip is just such a good deal. A couple bucks for black wheels haha.
