Thanks to LS1Tech, she's alive! 1936 Chevy sedan "Mabel".
It's been a big week for me and my '36 sedan. "Mabel" (as my wife calls her) roared to life for the first time in many, many years Sunday night about 11:30 (open headers, the neighbors LOVE me). I trailered her to the exhaust shop on Monday, then DROVE her to the alignment shop (about a quarter mile) even though she had no windshield. Last night I installed the V-butt windshield (my first) and chopped the garnish to match the chop top. Today, while I'm at work, my wife is trailering the car to the Hwy. Patrol office for VIN verification, then to the courthouse to get a tag. She's far from finished, but barring an issue popping up today, I'll be driving her at Cruisin' the Coast 16 this weekend! She'll look more like a "rat rod" with her flat black finish and lack of upholstery, but at least I'll be driving!
I want to extend a very big "Thank You" to the members of this group. Your input has been invaluable in getting Mabel to this point!

Congrats! It's always a good feeling when they come to life for the first time. I actually took a sharpie and wrote the date on the inside of the roof the first time my '33 moved under it's own power. I figure that day was the first time it had done so in probably better than 50 years!

Oh well. The car will be sorted out better next year anyway. BTW, CTC broke all of it's previous records with over 6100 cars registered! That about 700 more than the previous record! Weather was awesome all week!
