motive gear alloys..? 9310?
anyone have any experience with a gearset like this?
MGR-G975390
made from a different alloy, supposed to be stronger than the "normal" sister set. just curious. i bought them and plan on having them professionally installed soon. install will be as good as it gets, this guy has done 2 other installs for me and numerous others for locals.

Just curious, I've been wanting to go with 3.90's but have been putting it off because of the orange box noise and they dont make 3.90s in the blue.... Are these supposed to be quieter than the orange box? I also see they are almost twice the price of the orange box..
Edit: just looked on their website and evidently G8 is fro the street and the G9 designation is for competition use only. So maybe its a soft compound not meant for repeated use on the street? I guess the orange box are still the only way to go for 3.90s

I've done a bit of research already on the 9310 alloy. was curious if anyone here has tried these gears on a non dd type car that might see 1k miles a year. basically these are stronger by nature but not heat treated like a street gear. the 9310 is like a memory alloy and will flex instead of break then return to its original shape due to its inherent properties and high nickel content. downside is faster wear. if anything I'd guess they're quieter due to being "softer". say they wear 3x faster. that's still what like 60k of use? say it's 50. like this car will see that many miles prob the rest of its life.
I'm going to try them. someone's gotta be a guinea pig. and if this means I can dig on the street without worrying about the ring gear spitting teeth that's good right. we shall see. I'm trying to catch up on heat and generation in a differential before going crazy.

the gears are in. so far they are very quiet. but it is hard to hear much with an fm10 on the car
When yopu say "very quiet" do you mean no noise like OEM gears or "just a little whine" ?
