Default 99-up TA LS1 M6 and A4 Gauge Clusters the same?

Searched, can't seem to find that specific answer, but according to this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/3064671-post25.html

Firebird instrument cluster with lens (98 LS1) = 16232042
Firebird instrument cluster with lens (99-02 LS1) = ? (formerly 9380692)

...it implies that it's the same part number for A4 and M6. I know 98's are different, but when shopping for a 2002 LS1 M6 TA Gauge Cluster do I need to ensure it's M6 version, or A4 also works? Thanks.

I'm guessing they should be the same as I have a '98 auto and when the sun hits it just right, I can see the SKIP SHIFT idiot light which isn't utilized on my car. One thing to watch out for though, is that I've heard lower spec models came with non-Z-rated tires and a speedometer that only goes to about 120 mph.

That's an awesome clue, I bet you're right. Unless someone else chimes in I'll take the plunge. I want to tinker with whiteface/colored gauges and dont' want to take my car out of commission in the process, so am buying another cluster to fart with.

I've taken my gauge cluster out to replace a bulb and I left it out while driving to the parts store for the bulb. The weird thing about the configuration is that by the time I got home, the battery was dead. It's like the alternator wouldn't charge without the gauges plugged in.

the only gauge difference I'm aware of is the V6 to V8 speedo difference aside from that, the lack of a "what gear your in" that most clusters have IE this (see attachment) from my old honda would suggest they use the same cluster.
