Cool Built Evo 8 (low boost) vs 2013 Shelby GT500 (vid)

just came back from Mexico and got you guys some vids. (Computer Generated)

Built 2.4L Evo 8 on Low boost 21-22psi making around 630awhp SAE Corrected

vs

a Stock 2013 GT500 (lowered 1.5" only) 12-13psi making 586whp SAE Corrected

I was driving the Evo and this was my first time ever to race this car. was kinda nervous and was looking more on the AFR and water temp more than anything else.

All 40mph rolls. on all runs I easy shifted to 5th. NO Brake Boost on any of the runs per GT500 Request due to power difference. Both are friends and this is all for fun so it was really open to everything.

Last run I was driving the GT500. Evo was in 3rd low RPM and granny shifting. the Shelby will be getting some mods during the winter. should be Fast when its all done. I am impressed with this car. Love the features it has. Very nice, Very fast, and as with most cars can be a monster with little mods!!!!

anyway sorry for making this long... here is the vid. ENJOY!!!

Good runs, next time try brake boosting. You'll get a good couple lengths off the bat and probably hold it throughout the run

Nice driving, quick cars, but I think that EVO needs a taller final drive

safe tune should be the only way cars are run these days. Too many guys reach for that extra power... and end up with a pile of parts. Hell my NA cars run 12.2-12.4 afr.

Well he almost has to be on meth,e85, or race fuel at 630whp which leaves alot more room. High 10's under load is a little rich.

Nice runs.

2nd run was about what I expected with no brake boosting.

I think some more seat time behind the Evo would have helped, coupled with some brake boosting. It would have been ugly for the GT500.

Nonetheless I'm still impressed with how it performed for being 100% stock.

Looking forward to future runs with mods on the '13!

Got lots buddies with built evo's from 600-820whp can be bad as cars. Specially brake boosting.

we agreed not to brake boost. obviously the Evo has the power/weight advantage. it was a friendly race so thats why we didnt brake boost. the 2nd run is the only run that really shows the difference between those cars.

you can see that the car was running rich. plus no brake boosting.

Yes I am impressed too with those 13' GT500. very nice cars and fast too! Both cars were running rich. the GT500 was in the ~11.0 AFRs but its on pump gas and the Evo was way rich.

Yes... the car is running E85. usually for max power you would want to be in the 11.6-11.9 area which is still kinda safe. as you can see we were way rich. car was just done so we though we will start like this for now and then turn the boost up. we will lean it out a bit. we will still have it safe around ~11.5 AFRs though. we would rather have the car safe and reliable and lose some power....

The 2nd run was the only "Right" run. first run I missed 4th. and the last run I was driving the Gt500 and told the evo guy to start in 3rd haha so that I get the jump

This is the FIRST Time ever for me to race the Evo so I was kinda nervous and worried and was looking mostly at water temp and AFRs. thats why I missed 4th in that first run. but on the 2nd run when I saw that everything was ok I was a little more relaxed.

Thanks and yes I agree the Gt500 is impressive. I love it!

Yes but since it was just a friendly race I decided I will not brake boost just like mentioned earlier because obviously the Evo is faster. Brake boosting would have made things a lot worse for the GT500.
