Crank Pulley Install Help..ASAP! well, i pulled the old harmonic balacner off with no problem, but how am I supposed to get the ATI super dampener on there? It won't slide right in...can i somehow use the puller in reverse?

First of all, on a stock pulley, the crank bolt is not long enough. Don't know about ATI. Second, using the crank bolt to press the pulley on puts enormous stress on the threads in the end of the crank. Ask anyone who has stripped out the threads in the crank and what it cost them to fix it. With the install tool the threads on the tool take all the stress of pressing the pulley on.

youll need a longer than stock bolt...i got mine from www.mcmaster.com 91310A868 - Class 10.9 $8.41 $8.41 today
Black-Oxide Stl Hex Head Cap
Screw M16 Size, 120mm Length,
2mm Pitch, Packs of 5
thos are the ones i bought i think they sell the blue ones individually...you crank that down till the pulley is about 1/2 way completely on...then take your stock bolt and tq that down to 250 ft lbs...then take the new bolt and tq it down to i think 37 ftlbs with some threadlock on it and your done

well folks, i have to say that i'm a giant jackass...
A wasted day is what i get for not reading the instructions...
it clearly says that for all aluminum balancers (at least for this ATI Super Dampener), the hub must be boiled in hot water for 5 minutes before installation. It will expand, making it easier to go on the crank snout...
yup, i'm a jackass...

with the ATI hub, there isn't really a point where it should sit flush like the stock balancer...but all of my belts are lining up with the pulley's fine.
