Vinci, Futral/ Cam Motion, Isky in that order. High quality, precision grinds with nice tolerances.I have heard good things about EPS, but have yet to try them.

Chris Straub at Straub Technologies. Who uses Bullet cores for his custom cams. Not the overseas junk that others use.

I just called and spoke to Geoff... "Comp usually does."

I guess I'll be sticking to my top 3.

I'm a big advocate for Ed Curtis, who in my opinion, is the most knowledgable cam guys I've ever talked to. Ed uses both Comp and Lunati to grind his cams. Keep in mind his cams all use proprietary lobes and cam profiles.

He never gets on here. He spends most of his time on Team Chevelle and YB. I am his employee though.

I'm running a Cam Motion shelf grind. So far its been working well. Comp Cams quality control has gone down the ******* lately. Seen tons of their cams come apart in the last 6 months.

I've been usein a eps (comp cams) for a few months. It's doing great so far. Lots of guys down here are usein cammotion which I have heard great things about. If I ever went with another other than a EPS I wouldent hesitate to run a cammotion grind

I've heard nothing but good about the Bullet cams.

Having said that, my cam is a Comp from Ed Curtis. So far, so good.

I've been hearing this on the site recently but I've yet to experience or know someone who's experienced a defect of ANY kind. I would say the VAST majority of cams out here are comp and all runnin like champs. Until I have reason to switch, I'll be sticking with the largest and arguably best cam company out there.

Had several LOCAL guys to me tear up near new engines bc of a Comp cam. The cams were checked, and it was the cam's fault.

Custom, shelf, or both? I'm not doubting anybody's experiences, just saying that I haven't heard of it outside of this site. I honestly find it interesting to have such a variance over the same grinder.

I get phone calls about comp failures everyday. Im not trying to say yours is going to fail or anything. All I am saying is they fail more than most other companies.

They also produce/sell more than most companies though, correct? They probably have more cams out there running perfectly fine than anybody else. I just think big companies (in general) get a bad rep sometimes because society focuses on negative aspects (failures, recalls, etc). IMO if you produce/sell the most units, that would naturally mean more applications/installations/variables resulting in more failures compared to the company that does 1/4 of their business. Anytime a respected business is willing to carry them, I'm not going to lose any sleep on purchasing their product.

Good point. Are there as many complaints with non lsx vehicles?
