just curious. what rpms are you turning on the highway?

Here you go: http://www.f-body.org/gears/

Standard TH400 gears are 2.48, 1.48 and 1. Multiply each of those by .78 to get the 6 speed impact of the GV OD. Plug in your tire and your rear gear and all your questions will be answered. Just remember to allo about 5-8% for slip on an non-locking converter.

A friend of mine from the 3rd Gen community has one in his 87'. He has a Vig 3600 stall as well. I can ask him what kind of RPM he is turning, etc.

that can be a 4-5 k tranny if you shop a good tranny shop though.

We put on e on Tom's car (nbm00ws6) a few weeks back. Very nice units for sure. Don't think he has driven the car much yet though. We just set his up to work of the provided "dimmer" type switch (manual operation).
