Default Can I swap pistons

I have a 408 with 32cc dish pistons in it, i'm an Nitrous guy. Can I put new pistons in it and rering it and call it a day? I assume the crank is balenced on its own, the rods match in weight just like the piston. Is that correct or do they ballence the hole rotating assemble together?

Short answer: No. You will at a minimum want/need to re-balance it when you swap to a flat-top or less dished pistons. If you go with the same brand and same bore size pistons, you can likely use those new rings though.

The motor has about 4k on it. Can I stip it down and give the crank, rods, new pistons to a shop and have them balence it and just reassemble? All I should have to do is file fit the rings, all the bearing gaps etc should be ok from the previous build?
