GXP - No muffler or No Resonator?
So for a quick increase in sound, what would sound better on a GXP, no muffler or no resonator? Or straight pipes?
Now some may say that no muffler sounds like crap and/or like a truck....
And yes I have searched Youtube for videos on the different sounds. Problem is that most of them make it hard to tell the difference.
Just wanted to get some feedback for I plan on removing something this weekend.
Thanks everyone!

If your going for SOUND, I would suggest taking the muffler off. I took my resignator off (after having flowmaster 44s installed) and it made the car sound about 2 to 3 tones deeper. Have you considered an eletric cutout? I was skeptical about them at first, but now I plan on installing them on every vehicle I get.

I did some research before I did mine but I found that just doing the resonator is your best bet for a little more sound and some rasp in the tone. I have been in straight piped no muffler cars and they are too loud for daily driving. Sure they sound loud and mean but even with DOD turned off you have a ton of cabin noise while cruising down the highway. When my mufflers rot out I'll put on a little lound mufflers but thats it for me. If your DOD is turned on still there is now way in hell I would do super loud exhaust, unless you like your car sounding like a helicopter.

No i dont LOL...
I just want to bring out the V8 a bit. My GTO is obnoxious and for what i use it for, its perfect for me. The GXP on the other hand, just a DD that will have my new born in from time to time so I dont want something crazy, but do want a nice rumble and dont want to spend money on mufflers. So I think the mufflers will go first and then I will see how it sounds.

I personally like the resonator being removed. For the sake of quality I would go with a catback system after that. I had the Magnaflow Catback and really liked it. It sounded great in person.

This is mine with resonator delete only. No rev just cold start idle. It has a deeper more "throaty" sound that gets even better under throttle. No noticeable difference with DOD at cruising and at $40 bucks to have a shop weld in a pipe in 20 minutes it was the best "temporary" improvement to sound without being obnoxious in a daily driver.
