Default Wow, I can kick myself :(

I was trying to set top dead center by put the tip of a plastic pen in the spark plug hole, and then i heard a light noise. I pulled the pen out and saw the tip broken off. I threw both hands in the air and walked out of the garage.
Do I have to pull that head off just for that plastic tip.

What are the odds it would actually do any damage? I would think it would spit it out pretty quickly...

ok...start the car and reve it really high till you redline and you should be ok!

just kidding just kidding...lol but was it the metal part of the tip of the pen? if so magnet should work. If not remember the cylinder is on a angle so it prolly slid to the side so you may have to pull the head. **** happens man

I may have to buy 1 of those robo camera to see it, the piece is tiny that grabber may not hold it. I thought about trying a hose on a vac'.
I'll get my light a try to find it.
This is my first LS build, these thing are frustrating, old motors are so simpler.

Being a very tiny plastic tip, it should burn up and blow out.

Used a small vacuum with a 1/4' hose, got most out, what's left will have to burn out.

Will probably melt rather quickly; what that will do I have no idea. Doesn't look to be too much left though, but I'd turn the crank by hand so as to lower the piston a bit (that way you don't accidentally lodge the pieces between the wall and piston) and revacuum. Not that the pen is going to make your car explode but having a bad piston sucks, ask me how I know haha.

It will either melt it to nothing or spit it out the exhaust

Set your engine to open the intake valve and use compressed air to blow it out of the open spark plug hole? Or do it to exhaust and blow from the spark plug in and hope the flow carrys out the plastic?

That sucks.

Use a shop vac and empty shop vac.Vacuum through spark plug hole and then check shop vac to see if you vacuumed out pieces.I had to do this when i dropped my injector connector seal under intake.
