Default I'm a BONE HEAD ! My Maggie has more to give

I can't believe I've over looked "how to trouble shoot"! 101.
My throttle has not been fully open (WOT) for almost a year. After my build I felt my numbers weren't up to par however, I knew my Maggie was maxed out and I was OK with the 485rwhp/515 torque w/o spray.
Long - long story short: while viewing my IATs and timing via a scanner I noticed how they nicely the criusing temps drop when I go what I thought was wide open throttle. Then I noticed that my TPS was at 82% !! I've got 18 % of untouched throttle on my NW 96mm. I physically viewed this under the hood once I pulled over. I don't know weather I should be pissed or happy. I guess I'm thrilled that I've found some free HP. Car is in the shop for clutch issues, once that is cleared up we are going with an SD tune and hope to find some more seat in the pants thrills as this is my DD and the numbers are just a tool.
Still I'm curious ..... Any guess's to what may be the results.
I will post when the project is done. ( specs in my sig.)

Man, that extra bit of throttle will make a substantial difference. Essentially, you've been running around with the equivalent of a 78mm TB!

Tuned a car the other day, that 2 other tuners had messed with prior. Car was only going to 80% throttle.

I hate to tell you.....That is 100% throttle. It doesnt show 100% on the scanner yet iits open 100%. We've had this discussion before over on the TBSS forums, and plenty of Tuners verified this is accurate. Your not leaving anything on the table with the throttle blade ad 82-83% is what the PID will read for 100% open.....Dont ask why, its just how it is.

Yes I did physically check, the blade was not fully open. I also had someone push it open as I watched the scanner go from 82% to 100%.

Hoping for a nice surprise !

So, how is it that when you push the throttle you only getting 82%, but when you had someone else do it...it's 100%???

The other person was probably at the TB actuating by hand while he watched the scanner.

I have seen this before where the owner/installer put the cable on the first connection instead of the one all the way at the end of the throttle body cam.

Were talking about DBC TB's that do go to 100% not DBW

Yeah, Im used to DBW, I didn't even think of a cable style.
Sorry, I just know that 82-83% on DBW is fully open.

I think once a ECU sees 100% it goes to static numbers basically. Does that mean that you will also get the tuning benefit of 100% throttle? IE timing and all that? Or does that part gonna be the same once it sees boost?
Thanks!
