Tallest tire possible on stock suspension?
I have a set of aftermarket Z06 18x9.5 wheels with 53mm offset that I am looking to get tires for. The stock tires(215/60R16 26.15OD) dont fill out the wheel wells enough to me. I was wondering if a 245/45R18 (26.68OD) or a 255/45R18 (27.03OD) would fit all the way around without rubbing.
The car is a V6 daily driver and I have no need for really wide tires. I dont drive it that rough. Would either of those two sizes fit fine? also, I dont mind a little tire stretch for the 245s. I have seen 245/45R18 on a 18x9 wheel before and they dont look stretched to me.
And yes I have searched and looked in the tire/wheel thread. Most of what I have seen has been fitting the widest possible tires. Not tallest.

245's belong on a 8.5" wheel. get some 275/40/18. they will fill the wheel well in better and cover the whole wheels width and not be stretched or have that weird lip that sticks out when the tires are narrower than the rim.

Ive had 275/45/17s before on a set of 17x9.5 C5s and didnt like the way it handled. They grabbed every single groove in the road and kind of had a mind of their own sometimes. They also hydroplaned a lot easier to me than the stock tires I have back on now.
So you think a taller than stock but not 11" wide tire will clear lock to lock up front?

you mean 275/40/17 (road manners depend on tire and suspension setup as well as alignment)
sounds like you need to get some 18x8.5's and stick with a 245
(fyi, on my lowered suspension i ran 18x9.5 w/275/40/18 and lock to lock only slightly rubbed the forward part of the wheel well, never any damage or excessive wear over a 4 year period)
