Default crank position sensor?

car would startup,
drive normal,
would randomly buck at constant highway rpm.. shuts off cruising sometimes
rpms drop 3-400 rpm while cruising
shuts off when coming to a stop.. feels like it is starving for fuel..
fuel pump died.. replaced with aeromotive 340

idles perfect, starts up perfect
drives normal for a few miles.. then same symptoms.. CPS code appears.. disappears.. reappears.. disappears.. only come son when car bucks violently, no misfire codes

decided to park it and change the CPS sensor today and see what happens

is that a symptom for anything else other than the cps? Im changing the fuel filter, putting in new fuel, already sea foamed, changing plugs with br7ef (nano install) changing CPS,

anything else i should check or am i good to go? thx

Umm, if you are getting a CPS code and it is running bad like that then YES...more than likely your CPS is bad. Consider yourself lucky it threw a code at least

yeah im sure it is just that, but ive never had this style of problem before and my car has been down for far too long. Im only asking so i have a list of troubleshooting options of what else it could be if the problem persists.

That's the exact symptoms of a failing CPS.

changed the cps.. long tubes and all..

dropped the starter and let it hung by the wire .. pita with virtually no clearance btw .. plugged in the new sensor.. reattached starter.. started right up.. no more issues

50$ at oreilys
