Default Spohn Torque Arm Failure

Took my car to the track for the first time this past week and never made it down the strip. First pass broke the weld on my Spohn Torque Arm. Very upsetting considering I run all Spohn parts.

Called and spoke to someone at Spohn last week and they said they had never seen it before, wish they would stand behind their product.

/end rant

Wow! You can see right where the weld broke on the trq arm. By that breaking and pulling away from the tube it allowed the rearend to rotate up and thus putting the driveshaft in a bind. We all know if you put a u joint in a bind bad things can happen. Sorry this had to happen to you, this stuff always puts a sour taste in your mouth when buying products from companies. It's only right that spohn sends you another trq arm. They can at least do that much considering you broke a $400 + Aluminum Driveshaft due to their product failing. Subscribed to see what they do about this...

#customer service is something that can make or break a company!

Yes 6 spd car

That's still no excuse for this breaking.

I was going to buy full suspension this winter for my car and was seriously considering Spohn, but being a 6spd. and seeing this I am starting to consider otherwise.

Hopefully they will stand behind their product and get you a new one. GL

Don't lie! You were going with MWC! Lol, on a side note I made at least 65+ passes on a stock torque arm launching at 6500 come on spohn!

This was leaving soft. No where near 6500, more like 2600

I have emailed them and called them to no avail. Their website says they are closed for the storm, hopefully once they are back open for business I can get this resolved.

Here is a picture a friend of mine showed me. This is from a different car at the LSX Shootout in Indianapolis a few weeks ago. This is the EXACT SAME BREAK.

Still waiting to hear back from Spohn, Very interested to see what they say. I run their product because they seemed to be a stand-up company. Hopefully that proves true.

I posted about mine breaking just last week. Mine broke the tube in half on a 3500 launch. I didn't call Spohn but will after the storm.

I have talked to people in the industry and it seems to be a common problem. Which is incredibly upsetting, I would like a response from Spohn, and for them to stand behind their product

Just looking at it, it looks like the weld penetration is miserable; I wonder if they had someone inexperienced or a machine set wrong for a batch of these.

If they don't stand behind it, I'm taking mine off and selling it. That will be the last product from them I buy.

I called Spohn about my TQ arm and they said a 3500rpm launch is too much for there standard arm. I told them my stock arm you could do that all day.

So what do you get for $647.00 bucks?

You might as well buy a cheap $99 one and replace as needed
