Angry Big cam shifting problems?

Just installed the Joe O. Monster cam.... it seems to be freakin the comp. out a lilttle. With the 226 cam the tranny was shifting good now:

Seems like its hanging the 2 to 3 shift 1st pass hit the limiter hard 3 times(dat.dat.dat.) then shifted (I never let off).

2nd pass we lowered the 2-3 shift 3 mph and it did the same thing hit the limiter hard 3 times then shifted

I was reading a diff. post about a deep pan helping and also speed sensor on the tranny?

Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem with my cam also before the trans took a ****,
I finally got it to shift into 3rd with out hitting the rev lim. I lowered the shift mph by 4mph and increased the rev limiter to 6750. It work for me. but it Still hit the limiter on the 1/2 shift. I ran 11.51 on that run.

I think I told Jeff about it, Then the converter took a crap. have to start over now.

Did you also lower the shift rpm as well as mph?

There is a table that allows you to adjust the delay. You might try reducing the delay time.

Also be sure that you are getting clean runs. Spinning a bit can mess everything up.

FWIW:

1) my shift points on the street do not work at the track with ET streets. I have to run lower shift points for racing, otherwise I bang the limiter at the track.

2) I have to race in OD. If I race in D, I have the same problem as you on the 2-3.

I have the same issue with the 2-3 in D...it will just barely bump the limiter, but shifting with OD fixes it.
